MLS: Grading the names linked to the league!
The MLS requires another David Beckham, there is absolutely no doubt it. It has to happen in the next transfer window where they need to get a star-name, a brand-name just like that of Beckham's.
Well, some guys over at Europe do not give the U.S national soccer
league its due respect. Well, we here do give them a huge round of
applause for bringing the MLS to the globe and I am very sure that the
league will improve as more and more players move from Europe. In this
post thread we will discuss some names which are linked to a move to the
States, and how will it pan out? First name is that of a modern legend
who has not find his feet at Madrid but may make the move to MLS and
take the league to a whole new level.
Who are we going to discuss here?
Ricardo Kaka
Once regarded as the best player alive on football, Kaka was the most feared midfielder when he was in his prime. His incisive passing, great vision and ability made him an absolute treat to watch. No wonder Real Madrid broke the bank to get this man, paying AC Milan a whopping 45.6 million pounds.
He never wanted to leave Milan, the only reason was the financial situation at the Italian club so that move was not disrespecting in any sense. What transpired after that is a completely different story.
It has almost been 4 years for Kaka at Madrid and he has just made 79 appearances. Injuries, strategies and tactics made him surplus for Jose Mourinho and when he did seem to get a regular place back in the team, there were always strong performances from the main-stays at Madrid i.e. Ozil, De Maria, and Khedira. He has looked good this season but overall for a player of the caliber of Kaka his time has been nothing short of a travesty.
What will he bring to MLS?
Crazy fan following. Here are some stats:
- He has 21M fans on his Official Page at Facebook
- He is the first sportsperson to surpass the 10m followers mark at Twitter.
- He is still regarded as a "GOD" in Brazil.
- Fans who have been following him want to see how he does at a new club.
- The critics want him to move on to a new challenge.
- His presence will provide much more in terms of football quality than David Beckham. No disrespect Beckham.
- He still has a lot to give as far as football is concerned. His play for Madrid last season suggested that, and he is still looking very good. A change of scene will definitely help him, and MLS provides a rather easier platform for him to finish with a flourish. Again no disrespect meant.
What will stop him from coming to the MLS?
- Himself; If he thinks he still has it, he would like to stay in Europe and play for a team.
- Other European clubs; if he is on the transfer list, there are still plenty of admirers of this talented magician. MLS Clubs will really have to outbid and provide a much higher pay-day for Kaka to turn his mind.
- The standard of teams at MLS. Definitely he would like to join a top notch side. Which one is that at the MLS? You Guess!
WE WILL DISCUSS A NEW PLAYER ON THIS THREAD. SO WAIT FOR THAT
