Monday Night football was never so BORING!

  • First game in charge for David Moyes at Manchester United
  • Return to Old Trafford for Jose Mourinho after so many years as a Chelsea manager.
  • Eden Hazard to showcase his talents to tell United who they missed
  • Wayne Rooney to come out all guns blazing to up his asking price infront of Chelsea.
  • Robin Van Persie itching to hurt some more teams.
  • Will Fernando score once again against Man United?

These were just some pointers to keep in mind for Monday night's clash between Manchester United and Chelsea. Even though it was just a 2nd and 3rd game for the teams in the season so far this had quite something riding on it but it ended up to be the most boring game I have witnessed on a Monday night. Many games have been played on these nights but never have I felt as sleepy as I was feeling while watching this game, regardless to write who I support because teams looked like they had an agreement on making sure the watchers will regret waking up till 2 a.m in the night by playing purpose-less football. Why were they running around for 90 minutes no one knows. If they were happy with a 0-0 draw then they should have blown the first and final whistle in the first minute, why boring the unfortunate million of fans by playing such a match.
I am not even interested in going to statistical analysis for this one as this is not worth it at all.
Jose Mourinho either wanted to do a Spain but with the likes of KdB and Andre Schurrle rather than Pedro Rodriguez or Cesc Fabregas or they wanted to play ultra-defensively. I do presume its the latter because definitely Schurrle is no Fabregas and KdB is far away from being a Pedro. On the other hand I am still unable to mark out the correct formation from Moyes, playing the trio of Welbeck, RvP and Rooney in a system that was clearly not 4-3-3 left me thinking exactly how are these guys supposed to link-up. Rooney was always playing an attacking midfielder, Welbeck wandering on the flanks and RvP not looking interested until the pass was supposed to be a volley from which he can score a super goal. The midfield of Valencia, Cleverly and Carrick also confuse me as to understanding was Valencia playing as a winger of a Center midfielder? or Was Man U going with 4-2-1-2-1 kind of a thing, I still dont know and possibly would never know.
All in all a very disappointing game at Old Trafford ended in a 0-0 draw and thats it, I wont be discussing this anymore in the future. Thats IT!
