EPL: Points to be noted so far!

2 weeks of the English Premier league and already so much to talk about. I wont get into details, just some pointers I deduced after looking at the games played so far.

1. Manchester United vs Chelsea last Monday night was the most boring game the clubs have played since I started watching EPL back in the late 90s.

2. Wayne Rooney is pivotal for United if they want to win the EPL, same can be said about Chelsea. Just like it was between City and United in the case of RvP as to who ever gets him will edge ahead in the title race last season, this season that person is Wayne Rooney. Whoever gets a hold of him will gain advantage in the title race.

3. Everton needs to sign a goal scorer and fast. The strategy of not playing with a recognized goal scorer is not going to help the club move forward.

4. Do not expect WestBrom to do a WestBrom of last season this time around and also do not expect them to do a Newcastle United of last season either. Although they need to get a CF of themselves, and quickly. Maybe Vydra will be the guy this time around?

5. Stoke scoring goals is fun; Stoke scoring them from open-play is a miracle. Keep up the decent work Mark Hughes.

6. Out of the teams that finished in the bottom half of the table last season, Southampton look the strongest this time around.

7. Newcastle United need to sort out things quickly or else another relegation battle awaits the Toon army.

8. Hull City will not be relegated but Crystal Palace and Ian Holloway needs to realize beauty is not the only way to go forward, beast is sometimes helpful as well.

9. Fulham, Swansea, Aston Villa, and West Ham should not be disappointed with their results, their future looks decent in terms of performances, it was just poor tactics from Jol, hard luck for Laudrup, Mignolet heroics vs Villa that denied them points, and for the Hammers, they need Carroll back and soon.

10. Liverpool should not get too ahead of themselves, two wins out of two is good but they were supposed to win against these teams anyhow if they have hope to qualify for the UCL.

11. Arsenal need players, squad depth and quality both. PERIOD!

12. The big talking point of the day was Cardiff City's win over Man City; don't be surprised if they beat your favorite side in Wales too. That place was as intimidating as Galatasaray's stadium is .

13. This looks like a season for the Center Forwards, already plenty of goals from the men upfront. 25 goals out of the 45 scored have been from forwards.

14. Spurs signings have made them odds on favorite to finish in the top 4. Especially after capturing young talent Erik Lamela.

15. Eto'o and Willian are at the bridge, a bit of directness returns to the team.
