The Liverpool Prospect: Possibilities of Sexy Football!
The
transfer season is'nt finish yet so they are bound to be a lot more ins and
outs at Liverpool FC; but there has been some movement at Merseyside and that
movement brings with itself a lot of excitement and potential even for the
neutral fans. The prospect of "Sexy football" in England; well yes,
its quite a possibility now.
When you
hear the term "sexy football" the Dutch side consisting of Van
Basten, Ruud Gullit, Frank Rijkard comes in to mind, while the incoming talent
at Liverpool may not be big names in the world of football at this moment; they
sure have the potential to produce the football everyone loves and craves for.
Transfers
In for Liverpool this season has seen the likes of Luis Alberto and Iago Aspas
in the midfield department while an upgrade in my opinion to Pepe Reina in the
form of Simon Mignolet has been bought. Kolo Toure has been brought in to
deputize instead of the now retired Jamie Carragher. The issue of Luis Suarez
is still unresolved; if he stays it is brilliant, even if he does not, that
will give Liverpool a hefty pay-check to go onto further spending in the summer
window.
Let's
take a look at the possible XI Liverpool will be playing in their first game of
next season at home to Stoke City:
Mignolet
, Johnson, Agger, Skrtel, Enrique, Gerrard, Lucas, Coutinho, Alberto,
Sterling, Sturridge
Or in a
4-3-3 u can take Alberto out to fit in Aspas. In either circumstance the mid
consisting of a back bone of Gerrard-Coutinho-Suarez; aided with the
flamboyance of Alberto, Sterling and Sturridge; we may see a completely dynamic Liverpool
in action.
They did
opt out for a 4-2-3-1 with Cutinho in behind Borini alongside youngsters Ibe
and Assaidi against Preston (yeah, that was a friendly), not to forget both of
them have some silky feet as well, Spearing and Allen were in the pivot; both
complementing each other well with Allen the passer and Spearing the
interceptor.
Coutinho (Man
of the Match for the game) just showed how classy he will be in the league come
this season; slick passing; beautiful passing; sexy passing; you name it and
the new INHO will provide you; still not sure of Borini but the arrival of
Aspas did give Liverpool something extra and sure that was a beaut of a goal he
scored.
Considering
Liverpool had round about 50% of possession in their games from last season; that
is one area which Brendan Rodgers would desperately want to improve considering
he is of the Possession-crazed manager type. With these signings that is one
thing that will definitely improve next season.
They may
or may not finish in the top 4 but surely Liverpool FC will be a treat to watch
next season.
