Manchester Derby Clash: City to face United at Old Trafford; Match Preview

Stadium: Old Trafford

The Manchester derby is less than a week away but Manchester United may have all but wrapped up the Premier League title, but there is always lots at stake when the Reds clash with City.

The Manchester derby refers to football matches between Manchester City and Manchester United. City and United have the two highest record home attendances in the history of English football – City in 1934 with 84,569 and United with 83,260 in 1948.

Sir Alex Ferguson hopes Wayne Rooney will have recovered from a groin injury in time for Monday's Manchester derby after the injury forced the striker to sit out United's trips to Sunderland and Chelsea over the Easter weekend.

The striker picked up the problem while away on international duty with England and consequently missed the league win at the Stadium of Light and the FA Cup defeat at Stamford Bridge.

At the other end City are ready to take down the devils as they have lost previous derby at Etihad Stadium last year by losing 3-2.
