Liverpool 0-0 Reading; Second Goalless Draw in A Row For Red's
Reading
0-0 Liverpool
Eventually it is another especially exasperating
draw for the Reds and a fine point at home for the Royals, but one which
probably isn't enough to help them extensively in their bid to avoid
relegation.
Lineups:
Reading:
McCarthy; Gunter, Morrison, Mariappa, Kelly; Karacan (Carrico), Guthrie;
McAnuff, Hunt (Hunt), McCleary; Pogrebnyak (Blackman).
Liverpool:
Reina; Johnson, Carragher, Agger, Jose Enrique; Lucas, Gerrard, Henderson
(Downing); Coutinho, Sturridge, Suarez.
LIVERPOOL was left aggravated for a second week
running after a goalless draw with Reading.
Brendan Rodgers' side wasted a catalogue of chances
against the relegation-threatened Royals at the Madejski Stadium, but found
home 'keeper Alex McCarthy in inspired form.
Luis Suarez, Daniel Sturridge, Steven Gerrard and
Philippe Coutinho were the biggest victims, but centre-back pairing Daniel
Agger and Jamie Carragher, and midfielder Jordan Henderson, all went close in
the first half.
Reading's own chances were few and far between, with
Pepe Reina saving well from Noel Hunt with the best of them, but at the other
end of the pitch it was a constant procession of wonderful match-winning
chances for Liverpool, all of which were spurned or saved.
Liverpool throwed everything at it, but simply unable to put the
ball in the net. So hugely frustrating for Brendan Rodgers and his men.
