European Champions in desperate need of a convincing result!
If you are Chelsea, Europa league is definitely not what you wish to be playing but the way Chelsea have been this season, they would be very lucky if they are still remaining in this competition come the next round with Romanian side Steaue Bucharest holding a 1-0 home advantage and Chelsea looking in tatters when ever they play in the Europa League.
It seems like the word "Europa" takes away all the fight, spirit, skills, and even ball-control from the players in blue as all the games that they have played they have looked awfully dispirited, disjointed and very very dis interested in playing this competiton. Well, to be perfectly honest, this may be the only chance of silverware for them this season. In a season where they were competing for seven trophies, this is the only realistic chance of actually winning one. Playing 4 games in 9 days will definitely hamper their preparations for Manchester United in the FA Cup and the league is gone already. They need to buck up and get a convincing result here or else this season will be labelled the biggest failure in the Roman era.
It has to be simple for Chelsea. They have enough quality to thrash Bucharest in their own home ground as so they should. They need to press up high, play quick, and look to get their striker behind the defense, and I hope Fernando Torres is making those runs today. They are in desperate need of atleast a 3-0 victory, and Fernando Torres for the umpteenth time in his Chelsea career is in need of a goal.
For Bucharest, they will be parking the bus, looking for counter-attacks and set-pieces or errors like the one Ryan Bertrand did in Romania to salvage something. It will not be easy but with Chelsea being so vulnerable in this competition, the iron may be hot for Steaue to knock out the now embarrassed European Champions.
